Bluegrass guitarist and singer Michael Daves has shared his plans to celebrate the 17th anniversary of his residency at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City. The impending night of commemorating is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 6, and is billed to include (currently unannounced) special guests.

Daves commenced his initial residency at Rockwood Music Hall in December ‘06 and performed on Stage 1 nearly every Tuesday evening until the COVID-19 pandemic brought live shows to a halt in 2020. During his expansive stage time, Daves racked up more than 650 gigs.

When the venue reopened in 2021, following the global shutdowns, Daves resumed his residency schedule. The musician performed once a month on Wednesdays on Rockwood Music Hall’s Stage 2 with various special guests.

In his time as a venue frequenter, Daves gained the attention of bluegrass luminaries like Trischka, Steve Martin, and Chris Thile. The latter and Daves also share a Grammy-nom for their 2011 LP, Sleep With One Eye Open.
