On Saturday, August 19, My Morning Jacket took the stage at the famed Greek Theatre on the U.C. Berkeley campus, which is located on the east side of the San Francisco Bay. During the show, the ensemble welcomed special guest and Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold, who sat in and assisted on a cover of Neil Young’s “Comes a Time.”

After working through select material from albums such as It Still Moves, Evil Urges, The Waterfall, and more, the band brought out Pecknold to help with the title track off the Canadian folk/rock master’s ninth studio album, which debuted in October 1978.

My Morning Jacket’s “Comes a Time” cover represented a debut for the group, which had not tried out the classic tune in front of an audience until last weekend. During the run-through, frontman Jim James strummed the acoustic guitar beside Pecknold. The two shared harmonies before the band dove in with instrumental assistance, including Carl Bromel on pedal steel.

Following the memorable debut, My Morning Jacket will take their tour to the Marque Theatre in Tempe, Ariz., prior to their highly anticipated two-night stand at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo., on August 25 and 26. Tickets remain on sale and can be purchased here
