Today, Connecticut’s premier jamband, Goose, shared a heartfelt message reflecting upon their incredible year and offering unabashed thanks to their fans and growing community.
The message was released with only two shows left for Goose in 2022 (Dec. 30 & 31 at the Andrew J Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio). The impending closure of the year seems to have left the group, comprised of Rick Mitarotonda, Peter Anspach, Jeff Arevalo, Ben Atkind and Trevor Weekz, with time to think back on their milestones.
In the message, they reflected on their journey from headlining Radio City Music Hall in New York to Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo., along with nine other arenas and the release of their third full-length LP, Dripfield. They thanked fans for their efforts: “You have kept our community growing and it is fully blossoming right now,” Goose wrote. “From podcasts, to brackets, to a newspaper, and numerous community led websites; everyone is getting involved and we love it!”
Additionally, the group did not fail to mention the incredible list of artists they’ve collaborated with over the year, including Trey Anastasio and his band, Phil Lesh, Father John Misty, Lucius, Jack Antonoff, Margo Price, Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith, BigBoi, Andy Frasco, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and more.
They closed the tender end-of-year note by writing, “It cannot be understated how grateful we are to be on this ride. We love each and every one of you for coming with us and lifting us up. Looking forward to ringing in 2023 with you this weekend, it’s gonna be a good one.”
As for the new year, Goose plan to keep the ball rolling with stops at Dead & Company’s Playing in the Sand gathering in Mexico on Jan. 14 through 17, a four-night run at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y. on March 8 through 12, and performances scheduled through July in cities like Boston, Nashville, Chicago, San Francisco, New Orleans and more.

With only two shows left in 2022 we’d like to reflect on what an unbelievable and crazy year this has been for us and our community. When we set out on this journey we never thought we would play Radio City Music Hall, Red Rocks, and 9 different arenas (which absolutely lived up to the hype) in the same year. We’ve had the opportunity to play on national TV three times, release our third full length album, and debut 16 original songs this year. Thank you all so much for being so receptive to our new songs and ideas. You have kept our community growing and it is fully blossoming right now. From podcasts, to brackets, to a newspaper, and numerous community led websites; everyone is getting involved and we love it!
Thank you for supporting charities we believe in such as Conscious Alliance and Backline, and for starting your own (Western Sun Foundation)! Together we’ve made real change happen this year and we are so thrilled to be making a difference.
This year we’ve had the honor to share the stage with some of our all time favorite musicians such as Father John Misty, Trey Anastasio (and his wonderful band), BigBoi, Cory Wong, Lucius, Margo Price, Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith, Andy Frasco, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Jason Hann, Jack Antonoff, Phil Lesh, and many more!
It cannot be understated how grateful we are to be on this ride. We love each and every one of you for coming with us and lifting us up. Looking forward to ringing in 2023 with you this weekend, it’s gonna be a good one! 🙏❤️
