Last night, Connecticut-based jamband Goose brought a beloved selection of songs for their second appearance as part of Austin City Limits festival, this time at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas. Though their set was comprised of just eight songs, the quintet put their all into each song, seven of which were originals, while the final was a cover of Otis Day & The Knights’ “ShamaLamma Ding Dong.”

The performance, which came hot off the heels of their stop at the South Side Ballroom in Dallas and saw covers of The Wood Brothers, Nina Simone and Steppenwolf, kicked off with “Borne,” the opening track off their critically acclaimed LP Dripfield. They continued the second song off the project with an extended and polished performance of “Hungersite.” Next, Goose performed “Animal,” which they debuted this year at Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio, back in June before playing longtime fan favorite “Arcadia.”

Goose continued their single set with the cover track of Dripfield and followed it up with “726.” They then tapped into their earlier inclinations with 2018’s “Creatures,” further displaying how far their sound and energy have come since their emergence during the past few years. They closed the set by displaying their aptitude for covers with the aforementioned Otis Day & The Knights cover of “ShamaLamma Ding Dong.”

Goose are set to take off with Trey Anastasio of Phish this fall and will celebrate their annual holiday celebration Goosemas in Colorado for the first tie at the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colo. They’ll also celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Andrew Brady Center in Cincinnati this December. Check out their full tour schedule here.
