The second night of South Park’s 25th-anniversary concert took place on Wednesday night at Red Rocks Ampitheatre in Morrison, Colo. The show was a joint effort between Ween and Primus, as they paid homage to the Comedy Central show. The concert was interspersed with bits of Eric Cartmen and the other characters from the hit comedy on screen. Matt Stone and Trey Parker also joined the ensemble to perform classic songs from the beloved series. Parker held it down on the grand piano while Stone played guitar, bass and other various instruments.

Fans weren’t sure what night two would hold for the tribute show, but many surprises were in store. While much of the show echoed the Tuesday night affair, it became apparent that more tricks were up the performers’ sleeves. Moreover, during the show, the Colorado Governor, Jared Polis, appeared on stage to declare Aug. 10 as “South Park Day” in The Centennial State. The night’s climax occurred after Primus performed “Blame Canada” from South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.

An animated Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson took to the screen to say, “Hey Alex, what can we do for our pals Matt and Trey? Send them some free Rush beer? Or even worse, we could show up and jam with them, eh?!,” as reported by Live For Live Music

Sitting behind the drum kit, Matt Stone looked in awe as the real Lee and Lifeson took to stage to perform “Close To The Heart,” watch a clip of the performance below. Les Claypool chimed in about the surprise for Stone, stating, “So, for the past three months, we’ve been doing this Tribute to Kings thing, a tribute to our new friends over here. So, I said, Matt, you gotta play drums on ‘Closer’, he’s like, ‘Ahh, I don’t know… shit’s hard.’ I’ve been pushing him and pushing him and pushing him, pushing him to play this thing. ‘Cause he had no idea we were dropping this on him. Well, here you go, brother!”

The ensemble played through the powerful track, and later, Claypool exclaimed during an instrumental break, “This is one of the most amazing moments of my life,” and turned to Stone to ask, “Is this one of the most amazing moments of your life?” to which Stone nodded along, smiling as he hammered the drums.
