The Flaming Lips are reviving their socially-distant bubble concerts, returning to Oklahoma City’s Criterion for another pair of hometown shows on March 12-13.

The initial bubble performances hit a speed bump in December 2020 as COVID-19 cases rose, but The Flaming Lips managed to safely host the shows on Jan. 22/23 for an encased crowd of 100 bubbles (each bubble fit up to three people).

As noted by frontman Wayne Coyne, “Your ticket purchase is ONE space bubble…your friends are free. It can just be YOU in there.. or.. YOU and a friend (that hopefully doesn’t have Covid19) for just the price of the space bubble.. or YOU and 2 friends.. it does not cost any more.”

The band also pulled off a similar, smaller bubble shows whilst performing on The Late Show as well as an IRL event in October.

Tickets for the March 12-13 outing will go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. CT.
