On Oct. 30 and 31, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong will, fittingly, adopt a film-inspired “Flockbuster” theme for their drive-in shows at Richmond, VA’s The Diamond.

“Prepare to celebrate the music of the movies you love as we close out our “Time To Drive-In” Fall Tour in cinematic style,” the band wrote via social media, reminding fans that the sold-out run will be available as a pay-per-view livestream on FANS.

“On our last tour before the pandemic, we visited the only remaining Blockbuster Video store in the world and had an absolute blast walking around reliving our childhood,” added frontman “Scrambled Greg” Ormont via press release. “Fast-forward to our current drive-in tour, we found ourselves naturally teasing songs from classic movies and felt a wave of similar nostalgia. Suddenly it all clicked and Flockbuster Halloween was born. With such an open-ended theme, there’s no telling which memories we’ll stir up for the Richmond Flock and those streaming at home.”

Previous PPPP Halloween themes have included “Stop Making Cake” – celebrating the music of Talking Heads and Cake – as well as “Dead Hot Sgt. Peppers” – digging through the works of the Grateful Dead, The Beatles and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
