Bandleader and multi-hyphenate Anderson .Paak recently appeared on The Late Late Show, performing his modern reflection “Lockdown.”

The track originally dropped on Juneteeth, with a video acknowledging the current Black Lives Matter Movement, and the loss of innocent lives like George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and many others confronted by police brutality.

Floyd’s name can also be seen emblazoned on a jersey in the background of .Paak’s new performance, as he sings, “Oh why don’t you tell me bout the lootin what’s that really all about?/ Cause they throw away black lives like paper towels/ Plus unemployment rate what? 40 million now/ Killed a man in broad day, might never see a trial.”

To further assist his community, the multi-instrumentalist’s .Paak House charity continues to donate to the Action Bail Fund LA, the Atlanta Solidarity Fund and the Albany Safety Fund for Black Lives.
