On Jan. 25, Widespread Panic completed their second of four performances at their Panic En La Playa destination event in Riviera Maya, Mexico. After inviting Marcus King to join them during night one, this show again featured guests; it was highlighted by a sit in from Jerry Joseph on guitar and vocals, as well as an appearance by Panic tour manager Steve Lopez on percussion.

The show began with “Sharon,” followed by the duo of “Greta” > “Worry.” Next, Panic covered Van Morrison’s “And It Stoned Me” before dropping into “Send Your Mind.” Later, the set closed with “Diner” > “Tail Dragger.”

The second frame kicked off with “Henry Parsons Died.” Later, the band delivered a mid-set highlight of “Mercy” > “Jam” > “Bowlegged Woman.” As the show began to reach its end, the band invited Jerry Joseph to the stage to provide guitar and vocals on a cover of The Beatles “Come Together,” which had not been played since the Trondossa Festival in May of 2018 (68 show gap). The band then invited tour manager Steve Lopez to join them and Joseph for a set-closing “Chainsaw City.”

Red Hot Mama kicked off the encore, which some fans may have expected, as the theme of the day was “Red Hot Pajama Mama.” “Blackout Blues” closed the show.
