Wilco descended upon the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico this weekend to celebrate their first-ever Sky Blue Sky event.

Wilco opened their inaugural Sky Blue Sky (named after their 2007 album of the same name) with “Bright Leaves” off their most recent offering Ode to Joy.

Then, after “Either Way,” Courtney Barnett emerged from the wings to sing on “Handshake Drugs” (the Australian indie rocker jammed the same song with Wilco at the 2019 Solid Sound Festival).

Barnett also performed a solo set earlier in the evening.

Other highlights included tour debuts of “I Must Be High,” “I’ll Fight,” “Hotel Arizona,” “Nothing’severgonnastandinmyway (again)” and “Someday Soon.”

In the biggest bust out of the night, Wilco offered the first version of their Billy Bragg collaboration “Secret of the Sea” since 2015.
