Ed O’Brien, the guitarist and backing vocalist of famed English rock group Radiohead, has shared his first-ever solo tune “Santa Teresa.” Credited to EOB, the ambient, instrumental track pulsates with a melancholic calm that persists throughout the song’s five-minute duration. “This is the sound of Santa Teresa,” O’Brien declared on Twitter. “Songs to come soon.”

Radiohead have been largely inactive since they released A Moon Shaped Pool back in 2016, although the new EOB release adds to the ever-expanding catalog of Radiohead side projects. In June, frontman Thom Yorke released his solo album ANIMA to widespread critical acclaim, and in 2018 provided the soundtrack for Luca Guadagnino’s remake of Suspiria. Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood has also become an in-demand composer for various Hollywood pictures, most recently scoring Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread in 2017.
