Last week, keyboardist DeShawn “D Vibes” Alexander announced that he will be stepping away from his duties touring with The Marcus King Band in order to focus on other music endeavors, and now the group has announced that Peter Levin will be joining them for a run of upcoming tour dates this month.
Levin, known for his work with Gregg Allman Band and Blind Boys of Alabama, will play with King and company for their Dead & Company after-party in Boulder, CO, July 6, along with their July 7 slot at California’s High Sierra Music Festival and their opening set for Chris Stapleton July 9 in Allentown, PA.
Check out The Marcus King Band’s full 2019 tour schedule here. No word has been released yet on a possible long-term keys replacement for Alexander in MKB going forward.

July 7, 2019 at 7:46 amPerhaps this replacement is in part, due to the change of stylistic direction Marcus is taking? Opening for Stapleton and moving to Nashville. Sounds like a country move to me.
