After shrouding the project in mystery, Trey Anastasio has shared the first full song from his new band Ghost of the Forest.
The track – self-titled as “Ghosts of the Forest” – certainly lives up to the “psychedelic” descriptors he used last week, and is definitely a bit of a departure from Anastasio’s more straightforward side-projects like Trey Anastasio Band.
In the album’s newly released official tracklist, you can see that “Ghosts of the Forest” opens the LP, and the rest of the band’s music ranges from four-to-five minute tunes to lengthy compositions like the 20-plus minute closing track “Beneath a Sea of Stars”
Ghosts of the Forest features Anastasio as well as drummer Jon Fishman, trumpeter and vocalist Jennifer Hartswick, singer Celisse Henderson, Trey Anastasio Band bassist Tony Markellis and Trey Anastasio Band keyboardist Ray Paczkowski.
“The amount of trust that they’re exhibiting in me just makes me want to cry,” Anastasio told Rolling Stone.
The Ghosts of the Forest LP is set for an April 12 release.

April 4, 2019 at 6:05 pmFirst they created a fake band and made a trashy half asses album(instead of actually getting their heads together and writing some good tunes) Now they’re making a new band and obviously paying a middle school student to write the lyrics
