Bob Weir & Wolf Bros kicked off their spring tour on Thursday night, treating fans to two full sets at Ithaca, NY’s State Theatre, including Weirs first versions of “Bombs Away” and “The Winners” since 2014.

The first set started strong with an extended jam on “The Music Never Stopped,” containing a full segue in and out of “Easy Answers.” Later, following a stand-alone “Peggy-O,” Weir and company revived “Bombs Away,” which was featured on Weir’s 1978 solo LP Heaven Help The Fool and last played by Weir and his Ratdog band on March 1, 2014 at The Capitol Theatre.

Weir & Wold Bros continued the bust-outs with “The Winners,” a regular Ratdog and Weir-Wasserman tune that has been dormant since March 14, 2014.

The band returned to their regular repertoire with an emotional “Black-Throated Wind” and closed the first half with a full “Weather Report Suite”> “Let It Grow” jam.

Set two immediately got the crowd moving with “Scarlet Begonias” and moved through Terrapin Station‘s “Passenger.” Fan favorites “Jack Straw” and “Cassidy” followed, before the band sank into a set-closing, four part jam that included “Wharf Rat”> “The Other One”> “A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fall” and, finally, “Not Fade Away.”

Weir, bassist Don Was and percussionist Jay Lane ended their first show of Spring Tour with their second Bob Dylan tune of the evening, “It’s All Over Now Baby Blue.”
