On Saturday, April 13, independent music shops around the world will celebrate 12th annual Record Store Day, and the annual event’s organizers have announced this year’s extensive list of exclusive releases, which once again feature new music, re-releases, compilations, collaborations and more, all available on limited vinyl for Record Store Day 2019.

Some of the massive list’s many highlights include a few records celebrating the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, recordings from that weekend of Janis Joplin, Sly & the Family Stone and Canned Heat, plus a 3-LP version of the original soundtrack for the Woodstock documentary; two Grateful Dead offerings, the Sage & Spirit collection curated by David Lemieux and a 2-LP release of the band at San Francisco’s Warfield on 10/10/80; two others from Jerry Garcia, JGB’s Electric On the Eel and a live collaboration from 1975 featuring Garcia, David Nelson, Frank Wakefield, Brantley Kearns and Pat Campbell; the Allman Brothers’ performance at Fillmore East in Feb. 1970, part of the Bear’s Sonic Journals series; the original test recording of Bob Dylan’s Blood On the Tracks; a brand-new full LP from the Flaming Lips, King’s Mouth; a collection of performances from Marc Maron’s WTF podcast including music from Jason Isbell, Margo Price, Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite and more, which will raise money for Musicians on Call; a new album from Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy, Warmer, recorded during the sessions for his recent solo effort, Warm; and a number of collaborations including Queen guitarist Brian May and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins on an unfinished tune from late Beach Boys member Dennis Wilson.

Digging further into the list, there are also releases set from Eric Clapton, David Bowie, Louis Armstrong, Pink Floyd, Prince, Jeff Buckley, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Aretha Franklin, Bill Evans and many more, plus offerings from newer artists like Courtney Barnett, Julien Baker, Mumford & Sons, Anderson .Paak, Santigold, Greta Van Fleet, Soccer Mommy and Record Store Day ambassadors Foo Fighters, who will be presenting a 3″ vinyl of their song “Big Me.”
