Levitation has unveiled the initial artist lineup for its 2026 festival. From Sept. 10-13, the 18-year staple of Austin, Texas’ psych, punk, electronica and alt-rock scene will revive its original format after a year at Palmer Events Center, shifting back to a citywide celebration. This year’s first dispatch details the participating venues of the Downtown Red River district – including Stubb’s, Mohawk, 29th St Ballroom, Hotel Vegas, Elysium, 13th Floor, and a “new expanded two-stage layout at Radio/East,” presumably operating as the main stage – and the first slate of performers.
Levitation 2026 currently boasts 15 eclectic and notable acts, led by Belarusian darkwave forerunners Molchat Doma, Quebec’s rising avant-rock duo Angine de Poitrine, Austin’s own Die Spitz, indie-pop star Arlo Parks, post-punk and electro pioneers Cabaret Voltaire and Gibby Haynes: Butthole Surfers Mania, coasting on the wake of Butthole Surfers’ first performance in eight years. Other confirmed performers include Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, Peter Hook & the Light, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Smerz, Rehash, Temples, Automatic, Sweeping Promises, Primitive Ring and Earth Tounge, with four more headliners and more than 50 more acts still to be announced. Austin legends The Black Angels, whose members Christian Bland and Alex Maas helped establish Levitation and Austin Psych Fest producers The Reverberation Appreciation Society, seem like a shoo-in.
Four-day passes for Levitation 2026 and tickets for standalone side shows are available now.
