Dogs in a Pile have planted its tee and lined up a drive for their fourth annual long strange round of golf benefiting the nonprofit Rae of Light Foundation, which “provides scholarships for students seeking secondary education and also music lessons for youth.” The event will take place on Monday, August 24, at the Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Lakewood, N.J. The announcement arrived ahead of the members of the band’s appearances during the Music On The Mountain weekend in Ludlow, Vt.
This past weekend, on Sunday, May 17, members of the group took part in an event billed as Acoustic Brunch, featuring Murray’s Law, Brian Murray, Jimmy Law, and Evan Jennison, while also participating in particular collaborative mash-ups during the previous nights jams that involved sharing the stage with the likes of Daniel Donato, Scott Metzger, TAB-featured Ray Paczkowzki, Jennifer Hartwisk, Nat Cressman and others – more coverage here.
Following this weekend’s festivities on the mountain, fan-shot videos and photos from the event were shared online. Watch a clip of Saturday’s fiery take on the Grateful Dead’s Workingman’s Dead centerpiece, “New Speedway Boogie.”
In the band’s post addressing their aforementioned benefit golf event, they noted that sign-ups, sponsorships and additional information are pending. See the post below.
