On Saturday night, moe. took their Born to Fly Winter/Spring tour to the Ogden Theater in Denver. The concert served as the group’s second and final venue-specific appearance in a two-part series that began on Friday. During the Buffalo University-formed band’s latest performance, they returned to J.J. Cale’s “Cajun Moon” for the first time since Jan. 8, 2020. They also added a new cover to their songbook, a debut delivery of Faces’ multi-generational dialogue on fair maidens, “Ooh La La.”

The concert began with a standalone “Don’t Fuck With Flo,” before pairings began with “Water” into “Hector’s Pillow.” Tin Cans & Car Tires track, “Hi & Lo” came ahead of the band’s return to 1974’s Okie feature, “Cajun Moon.” The song was first debuted by moe. in 1999 and was performed on occasion, eventually representing a rare addition to the repertoire. Before Saturday’s return, Cale’s track had been shelved since 2020. moe.’s dust off marked the end of a six-year hiatus since the track last graced their setlist.

Rather than cap off set one, the group created a sequence featuring “Jazz Wank,” a “Buster” tease, and “Plane Crash” to complete the suite. On the other side of the set break, the roster of musicians created a nonstop stream of content: “Farmer Ben” > “Yellow Tigers” > “George.” After a pause, they picked up “Recreational Chemistry” before tacking on “Giants” as the final piece of their second set.

During the concert’s encore, the band began with a debut: their first-ever live delivery of Face’s “Ooh La La.” The well-received moment was capped by “Mar-Dema” to end the night.

After their time in Denver, moe. will take a short break from the road, ultimately resuming their live itinerary on Thursday, May 7, at The Mill & Mine in Knoxville, Tenn. For tickets and more touring information, visit moe.org.
