On Saturday, April 6, The String Cheese Incident delivered its Texas Eclipse festival set at Reveille Peak Ranch in Burnet, Texas. During their stand time, the band ran through a stack of originals culled from albums like 2014’s Song In My Head, 2003’s Untying the Not, and others, which arrived before the show’s collaborative finale, a sit-in featuring Big Gigantic drummer, Jeremy Salken.

Before the night’s most talked-about moment, The String Cheese Incident kicked off their frame with “Hi Ho No Snow” and followed up with “Sirens.” Next, they turned to the 2012 debut “Can’t Wait Another Day,” dusting the number off for its first play of 2024. A newer number, “Eventually,” preluded “Tinder Box,” serving as rev-pieces for the ensuing jam.

The latter portion of the set picked up with “Let’s Go Outside” before a supersized pairing of “Outside And Inside” into “Just One Story.” The band’s guest, Salken, arrived next. His presence added to the band’s “Rosie” delivery, with percussive additions applied to the Song in My Head originator.

The festival frame wasn’t SCI first time performing with Sulken. Previously, during the jamgrass band’s 2015 Red Rocks Amphitheatre stand, they welcomed the drummer during their encore. Read more.
