In the wake of Skull & Roses Festival’s sudden cancellation yesterday, Moonalice have stepped up to offer some consolation for the highly-anticipated festival’s would-be attendees. For its trio of Bay Area shows next week, the pioneering psychedelic supergroup has invited ticket holders to attend for free, extending an alternative for April 18-20. These special engagements will also offer themed programs and free posters.

“Skull & Roses was a fantastic festival and we were lucky to play there many times. The festival and its fans deserved a much happier ending,” shares Moonalice’s Roger McNamee. “We think the right thing to do is give folks who had S&R tickets free entry to our shows on April 18, 19, and 20.”

On April 18, Moonalice will blow through Felton, Calif.’s Felton Music Hall for its first annual Tricycle Day celebration, inaugurating a new holiday in preparation for the iconic dates to follow. The band has encouraged fans to “be creative” in their style, as this collective costuming will set the tone for next year’s iteration. All attendees to this first date will receive a limited edition poster.

Then, on April 19, the jam all-stars will observe the historic occasion of Bicycle Day, commemorating original psychonaut Dr. Albert Hoffmann’s first experiment with LSD, the inciting incident for the acid-testing craze that defined the Bay Area counterculture of the mid-’60s. In this spirit, the ensemble will bring a specially curated set to Rancho Nicasio in Nicasio, Calif., with yet another fleet of limited-edition commemorative posters for all fans in tow.

Finally, come Saturday, Moonalice will join celebrants everywhere in sparking up some joy for 4/20, assuming the spotlight in Sebastopol, Calif. for a 4/20 Gathering of the Tribe at the Hopmonk. To properly honor “the highest holy day in the Moonalice calendar,” the band has a few prizes in store, a generous spirit amplified by the impressive packages of 20+ posters specially created for the event to be distributed to all guests.

To qualify for free admittance to the shows, email [email protected] with your name, contact information, and a photo of your Skull & Roses ticket. Put “Skull & Roses” in the subject line, and please bring your Skull & Roses ticket to the show.
