On Friday, March 22, Eggy arrived at Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore, Pa., for the second-to-last stop on their winter tour. The concert took place approximately 12 miles outside Philadelphia. It included a special guest appearance from regional resident and previous collaborator The Disco Biscuits’ Marc Brownstein, who joined his hosts during the final frame for a single song sit-in, which included teases of Bisco originals, all stuffed into the Chuck Berry favorite, “Let It Rock.”

Before the arrival of the evening’s guest, Eggy started off its stage time by segueing in and out of choice numbers, beginning with “Atomic Age,” which debuted earlier this month in Burlington, Vt. The first song ran into the title track off Northern Light and extended further with “Way Of The Stone.” Upon completion, the band paused before pairing “Gretchen” with Little Feat’s “Skin It Back.” Eggy popped out on “Evergreen,” followed by “12 Pounds of Pain,” with notes of the aforementioned Little Feat cover lingering.

After returning to the stage, the group left “Finding and Losing” unfinished, opting for a collision into “Backyard Bear” and “Finding and Losing.” The climax of set two occurred with the arrival of Brownstein, who notably included members of the Eggy lineup: Jake Brownstein and Dani Battat in his Brownstein Family Band earlier this year. For the sit-in, the headliners and their guest covered Berry’s classic “Let It Rock,” adding to the original composition with teases of Disco Biscuit tunes, “Portal To An Empty Head,” “Home Again” as well as notes of Keith Jarrett-penned “The Windup.”

Following Brownstein’s stage time, Eggy delivered their final song of set two, “Ricky Gervais.” For their encore, the Connecticut band ended with “Burritos El Chavo 2.” To boot, the band turned up at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl last night, March 23, for an evening billed as Purim: Reelin’ In The Years. Notably, during the night’s second set, band members embracing decade wear: Mike Goodman (50s), Alex Bailey (90s), Jake Brownstein (80s) and Battat (70s).
