Portugal. The Man have announced the Knik Country Tour, adding a series of US summer dates to follow the winter tour that began last night in Albuquerque, N.M. Supporting its 2023 offering Chris Black Changed My Life, the band will trek cross-country with a 23-show run in May and July. These new dates aligns with Portugal. The Man’s 20th anniversary, as the band recorded its first demos and set off on its first tour in 2004.

One month after its performance at Byron Bay Bluesfest in Tyagarah, Australia, Portugal. The Man will kick off its new tour on May 1 at the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in Wilmington, N.C., with support from Reyna Tropical. From there, the band will headline at the esteemed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn., before visiting a series of prominent Midwest venues including the Salt Shed in Chicago and two dates at Minneapolis’ indie favorite First Avenue. Next, the group heads west along the northern border, ending the first leg of its tour with a stop at Remlinger Farms in Carnation, Wash., featuring a special guest appearance from Bomba Estereo.

Portugal. The Man will return to the road on July 5 with a set at Memphis, Tenn.’s Minglewood Hall, launching a series of southern shows with support from Spoon Benders. The group will then hit three Colorado venues with Tegan and Sara, including a show on July 10 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo. Finally, the band will conclude its summer tour under the Big Sky with an engagement at KettleHouse Amphitheater in Missoula, Mont. 

2023’s critically acclaimed Chris Black Changed My Life, named for the band’s longtime friend and tour MC who passed in 2019, features an eclectic range of collaborations from such acts as Edgar Winter, Black Thought, Natalia Lafourcade and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. To The band shared a fresh music video for the song “Grim Generation” in anticipation of the new album tour.
