On Saturday, Feb. 3, Billy Strings and Chris Thile continued their collaborative reign by appearing on CBS Saturday Morning’s Saturday Sessions. The televised musical team-up arrived after the duo participated in The 65th Street Sessions, featuring a Cory Henry sit-in. Yesterday’s display culminated in a delivery of a trio of traditional numbers.

During their CBS Saturday Morning appearance, Strings and Thile dipped into exemplary sampling from the bluegrass/folk cannon, showcasing a masterful mix of mandolin and acoustic guitar licks positioned with complimentary lyrics to evoke the timeless stylings of the genres. During the weekend presentation, the celebrated artists worked through “Wild Bill Jones,” “I Am a Pilgrim,” and “I’ve Been All Around This World.”

Notably, two out of three songs performed during the televised musical delivery were featured during the pair’s The 65th Street Sessions performance on Feb. 1, sans “Wild Bill Jones,” a tactical pull that Illuminated their individual and partnered prowess. To boot, the two musicians will follow up tonight, both of which are independently nominated for 2024 Grammy Awards: Strings for Best Blue Grass LP, for Me/And/Dad, and Thile’s Celebrants–up for Best Folk Album.
