Today, Joe Russo announced the fourth edition of his “This is Gonna Be a Blast” series, which is set to return to The Sultan Room in New York on February 20, 2024. John Medeski and Wilco’s Nels Cline will participate in early and late improvised sets alongside their host for the impending night of music.

The previous iteration of “This is Gonna Be a Blast,” dubbed Vol. 3, featured an exciting lineup of players joining Russo on stage. The December 23, 2023 bill included fellow musicians Mike Gordon, Robert Walter and Nick Bockrath (Cage the Elephant).

“This Is Gonna Be a Blast” Vol. 4 is intended to transcend the boundaries of a traditional show, offering a distinct fusion of funk, soul, rock and improvisation steeped in the spirit of collaboration.
