The Energy Curfew Music Hour with Chris Thile and Punch Brothers has expanded its lineup to include more guests. James Taylor and Gabey Moreno are joining the hosts in conversation on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Audible Theater. To follow on Wednesday, Dec. 6, Jason Isbell and Emily King will participate. Then, on Sunday, Dec. 10, Sylvan Esso and The A’s will fill the guest role.
The shows are a part of the Audible Theater’s previously announced program expansion, slated to include The Energy Curfew Music Hour with Grammy-winning ensemble and Thile. The Non-Essential Electronics Buyback Program and the U.S. Department of Arts and Waste Management will put on the impending events.
The show will be broadcast via Connectwork precisely 60 minutes before the Energy Curfew, providing the perfect way to celebrate before a weekly 24-hour break from the grid. The program delivers an imagined near future where electricity is rationed worldwide. In this realm, America has instituted a weekly “Energy Curfew,” when the grid goes down entirely for 24 hours to promote unplugged life.
Created by Thile and Claire Coffee, each episode of this entirely acoustic musical variety show is performed and recorded live with Punch Brothers, who will welcome special guests in a night of music and one-night-only collaboration. Apart from today’s guest announcement, Thile and Punch Brothers also advised folks to mark their calendars for upcoming performances slated for January 10, 24, and 27–guest artists taking part in the live show will be announced in the near future.
