On Nov. 20, Los Angeles-bred American rock band Dirty Honey performed at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles. The ensemble–comprised of singer Marc LaBelle, guitarist John Notto, bassist Justin Smolian, and drummer Jaydon Bean–rocked the venue’s hallowed walls, but no moment was as potent as when Black Crowes’ frontman Chris Robinson surprised fans and joined the band on stage.

“He’s been teaching me since before he knew me… from The Black Crowes! Mr. Chris Robinson,” LaBelle shouted into the mic as Robinson walked onstage with an unmistakable swagger.

Together, Dirty Honey and Robinson tore into a rendition of AC/DC’s iconic song “Rock ’n’ Roll Damnation.” The song served as a perfect vehicle for both the vocalists to dig deep and bellow their spirits outward toward a starlit California sky while Dirty Honey elevated them with waves of distortion.
