American rock band Dr. Dog have announced their return with a special show set for July 18 at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo. The Philadelphia-based band, comprised of Toby Leaman, Scott McMicken, Frank McElroy, Zach Miller, Eric Slick, and Michael Libramento, went on a hiatus following a “last tour” in the fall of 2021.

Earlier this year, McMicken spoke to Relix about his first solo album, Shabang, while reflecting on taking time off from touring with Dr. Dog. “It’s become hard to be in a band that tours a lot, for obvious reasons,” McMicken offered. “And even as things have opened back up, I’m aware these days of how challenging and expensive and harrowing it can be to tour, just as I experienced when we did the last tour that we ended up putting together. We are fortunate that Dr. Dog took this particular time on earth to take a break from touring.”

In the interview, he also shared that he is excited to continue recording with Dr. Dog and says that they are currently working on new music. Read the article with McMicken here.
