On Sunday, Oct. 29, the String Cheese Incident took their final stand at the 2023 edition of Suwannee Hulaween in Live Oak, Fla. During the afternoon frame, the band worked through a grouping of classic covers and originals, bringing with them fellow festival guests, Jon Stickley and  Lyndsay Pruett, who added guitar and violin, respectively–notably, the Sitckley Trio, took The Meadow stage before SCI’s 3:30 p.m. start time.

The band took the stage with their guests in tow, starting the frame with the Peter Rowan classic, “Midnight Moonlight,” the jammed-out take on the old classic gave way to Django Reinhardt’s “Minor Swing.” For the third and final collaborative number, the group worked through the traditional tune, “I Know You Rider.” Once Sitckley and Pruett left the stage, the billed players added “Black and White” off 2001’s Outside Inside.

Next, they picked up “Manga” and proceeded with “Cottonmouth.” SCI pulled from their 2023 release, Lend Me a Hand next, performing “One More Time.” “Bumpin’ Reel” came before “Shantytown,” and in time, the band paired “Joyful Sound” with “Rumble” for an uninterrupted two-song experience. To cap the mainframe, they worked through “Colorado Bluebird Sky.” For their encore, SCI landed on “Beautiful” to cap their Suwannee Hulaween stand.
