Matisyahu has announced a special hometown Sunday show set to take place at BetAm Shalom Synagogue in White Plains, N.Y., on Oct. 29.
The performance will serve as a Tikkun olam, a concept in Judaism that refers to various forms of action with the intention to repair and improve the world. The event will also serve as a social action benefit concert for Midnight Run and El Centro Hispano. Billed as Our Very Own Matisyahu the intimate and spiritual gathering hopes to bring healing, connection, strength and peace to the community as conflict in the Middle East continues to go on.
Following Matisyahu’s performance in White Plains, he’ll continue to celebrate life, music and community while giving energy to charity by performing at WhyHunger’s Amplified Event at the Brooklyn Bowl on on Nov. 1. The event will also see performances by Eric Krasno & Friends, Celisse, Emily King, Molly Tuttle and Robert Randolph. Read more about the upcoming event here.
