Over the weekend, The National appeared on the BBC program titled Later… With Jools Holland. During the season’s initial episode, the Brooklyn, N.Y.-formed rock band cut into two of their latest tracks to appear on their 10th studio album, Laugh Track. Included in the televised performance were “Space Invader” and “Deep End (Paul’s in Pieces).” Watch below.

Previously, during their opening night performance at the Homecoming Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio, The National revealed the news to their fans. Singer Matt Berninger announced the release of their latest album, Laugh Track, which landed just five months after their 2023 LP, First Two Pages of Frankenstein. While the LP is available digitally, a vinyl follow-up will drop in November.

During the aforementioned concert, The National debuted “Space Invader” in addition to other samplings off their already dropped 2023 LP, all of which alluded to the current and prolific season in this chapter of The National’s repertoire.

Moreover, members of the band, Matt Bernginer and Aaron Dressner, recently sat in with Norah Jones on her Playing Along podcast. During the program, which can be listened to here, the players mentioned above delivered a stripped-down take on “Sea of Love” from Trouble Will Find Me.”
