Wilco’s frontman, Jeff Tweedy, has shared a cover of English singer-songwriter Bill Fay’s 2020 release, “Filled With Wonder Once Again,” from the Countless Branches project. The take on the folk tune arrives on Fay’s 80th birthday and is part of a special series of songs interpreted by admirers and fans of Fay and the work he has produced throughout his extensive career.

Previously, Tweedy had covered Fay’s earlier work, the 1970 released “Be Not So Fearful,” along with his Wilco bandmates. Notably, the song found its way into their live sets and became a favored part of their late aughts gigs. In 2012, Fay supported the Chicago band on multiple occasions, including joining Tweedy for “Jesus, Etc.” on 2012’s Life Is People

Prior to the delivery of today’s single, Tweedy spoke about Fay’s music in a 2020 profile with the New York Times, in which he described the artist’s music as “[it] sounds like it was designed in a laboratory for me to fall in love with.” Listen below.
