American guitarist and music icon John Mayer has announced he will perform a special solo concert at the Wiltern in Los Angeles on Sept. 19. The show comes ahead of the singer-songwriter’s fall leg of his acclaimed solo tour, and the proceeds garnered during the event will go entirely to the benefit of the Heart and Armor Foundation.
The charity was founded by Mayer in 2012 with the mission to “protect the health of veterans and to connect civilians to the experience of military service members.” Since its inception, the Heart and Armor collaborative team has begun researching and developing innovative support for veterans. Their pilot studies have generated nearly $8 million in grants for further research from scientific funding agencies, and their portfolio of work exceeds philanthropic contributions by a margin of 5:1, with results and progress accessible through public scientific journal publications.
Notably, The Wiltern has a capacity of 1,200 to 4,000 seats and is a considerably smaller venue than the arenas in which Mayer has been showcasing his solo inclinations. As such, fans must register with Verified Fan to receive a code before the concert’s sale.
Tickets start at $99 and go on sale Friday, Sept. 15 at 10 AM via Ticketmaster. Confirmation codes will be sent on Thursday, Sept. 14. Learn more about securing tickets here.
Two pairs of tickets for the show will also be auctioned off via Charity Auctions Today. Both pairs will come with an autographed poster of the evening’s lineup and early entry into the venue.
