Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country and Connecticut jamband Eggy have announced plans to venture across the southern United States on a new winter tour, beginning in late November. The 11-show run marks the first time that Donato and Eggy will embark on a collaborative tour together.
The ever-growing acts will perform the first show of their When Worlds Collide tour in Columbia, South Carolina at The Senate on Nov. 29. Cosmic Country and Eggy will then make their way through a chain of performances in Macon, Ga., Savannah, Ga., Jacksonville, Fla., Mobile, Ala., Houston, Dallas, and Austin, along with Oklahoma City, Okla., Fayetteville, Ariz. and Memphis, Tenn.
“After a couple shows together already under our belt,” Donato wrote in his joint tour announcement post on social media. “I couldn’t be more excited for the memories and frequencies that will be created during this run.”
Donato and Eggy first shared a stage together at The Peach Music Festival in Scranton, Pa., in 2022. That weekend, Donato joined Eggy for a cover of “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” by Crosby, Stills & Nash. During the festival, Eggy’s guitarist Jake Browstein sat in during Donato & Friends, which saw a setlist with gems including Phish’s “Back On the Train” to “Waymore’s Blues” by Waylon Jennings.
The two sonic locomotives reconnected last December for a show at Acme Feed & Seed in Nashville to perform over a half hour of improvisation on the songs “Lay Down Sally” by Eric Clapton and “Buying Time,” an Eggy original. Donato and Eggy also co-headlined a show together in Hamilton, Ohio, earlier this year.
Separately, the acts have gained traction for several performances in recent months. Donato recently joined Billy & the Kids for shows in Baltimore and New York and has consistently served as a member of The Allman Brothers Band’s tribute act Trouble No More. Eggy is set to wrap up a tour that included festival appearances, including JamPacked Music Festival in Richmond, Va., and more recently, CatBird Music Festival in Bethel, N.Y.
The presale for the When Worlds Collide tour went live this morning at 10 a.m. local time, and can be accessed with the code LAUREL. General public ticket sales will begin on Friday, Aug. 25, local venue time.
