Earlier this year, Dan Auerbach and his Easy Eye Sound label announced the August 11 release of a new blues anthology titled Tell Everyone! To celebrate the new music, Auerbach’s Black Keys ensemble and others who appeared on the record will participate in a Juke Joint Jam at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl on August 9.
The event will feature a headlining main frame courtesy of The Black Keys, who will perform with the band that helped to create their Grammy-nominated 2021 LP, Delta Kream (and run through the album’s material), including Hill Country blues legends Kenny Brown (guitar) and Eric Deaton (bass), in addition to Robert Finley, who is also included on the impending LP.
Additional names included on the bill are Mississippi’s Jimmy “Duck” Holmes and emerging Chicago-based blues artist Gabe Carter. The event serves as a celebration of the close blues community that Auerbach has cultivated since he founded the Easy Eye Sound label in 2017.
Tell Everyone! presents an overlook of the modern blues scene and involves a number of genre hard hitters and mainstays, including Jimmy “Duck” Holmes and Leo “Bud” Welch, in addition to the next generation of talent, such as Nat Myers and Detroit duo, Moonrisers, and others–with the aim to uplift voices within the blues realm.
Tickets for the August 9 event at Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl are on sale now.
