Today, Billy and the Kids announced that Nashville, Tenn.’s own Daniel Donato would join them during their performances in New York and Baltimore on Aug. 18 and 16, respectively. The addition to the performances was shared by Billy and the Kids’ social media platform and follows Donato in search of his peers or a pier.

“We heard Daniel Donato was going pier to pier looking for us, so we invited him to jump on board as we set sail from Pier 6 (Baltimore) to Pier 17 (NYC),” to musical collective shared on Instagram along with the video.

The two shows are being touted as “Dead on the Water” and are set to be hosted by Grateful Dead percussionist Bill Kreutzmann and feature Tom Hamilton, Aron Magner, Reed Mathis, James Casey, plus Jeff Franca along with Donato – among others.

Kruetzmann and Donato crossed paths in New Orleans during the latter’s Cosmic Country performance at Republic NOLA in New Orleans. Donato’s show was a guest-filled affair that also featured sit-ins from George Porter Jr., Kanika Moore, and Branden Lewis of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, but the highlight was a 45-minute jam of “Dark Star” > “Cumberland Blues.”

The Billy and the Kids show in New York City is sold out, but the Baltimore show is currently onsale. Learn more and find tickets here.
