Last night, Umphrey’s McGee and Goose were two of the marquee acts to play Garrettsville, OH’s Resonance Music & Arts Festival. And both acts welcomed some special guests to the stage.

Goose played two sets on the Moon Stage and nodded to their surroundings by busting out King Harvest’s “Dancing in the Moonlight” for the first time since March 3, 2022. After Umphrey’s McGee concluded their show on the Beach Stage, guitarist Jake Cinninger and keyboardist Joel Cummins both made their way over to Goose’s stage to join in on “The Empress Of Organos.” Cummins recently collaborated with Goose drummer Ben Atkind in New Orleans, playing a special show that drew in a number of familiar faces from the jamband scene. The same day, Goose keyboardist/guitarist Peter Anspach regrouped with his old band Great Blue for a increasingly rare show, which kicked off with “Doc Brown,” a tune Goose plays regularly, and closed with the Goose-adopted “Yeti.”

During their own Beach Stage set, Umphrey’s McGee embraced the weekend’s collaborative spirit by welcoming singer Kanika Moore for their debut cover of Lizzo’s “About Damn Time.” Moore played a show earlier in the day Umphrey’s McGee’s bassist Ryan Stasik with their Doom Flamingo band.
