Phish will issue their June 16, 2000 performance at Suminoe-ku, Osaka, Japan’s Zepp as their next LivePhish archival release this Friday. SiriusXM’s PhishRadio first broke the news yesterday and band archivist Kevin Shapiro played a few highlights from the show on air.

The 2000 performance closed Phish’s seven-show run through Japan. Though Phish played a few sets at the Fuji Rock in 1999, the Vermont Quartet’s 2000 outing was their only proper tour in Japan. It is also their most recent international tour, though the band has performed in Canada and hosted several Mexican destination events in recent years.

Phish’s 2000 tour of Japan arrived around the release of the semi crossover LP Farmhouse, after a busy few weeks of promo appearances and special shows, including two dates at New York’s Radio City Music Hall. The Zepp gig they will release this week includes an extended “Limb By Limb” opener and a choice segue from “Runaway Jim” into “Theme from the Bottom” at the top of the group’ second set.

Phish has previously released their June 14, 2000 show from the same oversees run at LivePhish Vol. 4.
