After the success of their Fleur de Dead concert at Saenger Performing Arts Theater in New Orleans in late April, Billy & the Kids have followed up and announced a pair of upcoming shows, which they have dubbed Dead on the Water, that will bring the ensemble back together for two summer appearances slated to take place along the East Coast in August.
The first show will occur on August 16 at Baltimore’s Pier Six Pavilion. Then after a night off to rest their bones, the group, comprised of the band’s namesake and original Grateful Dead backbeat Bill Kreutzmann alongside Tom Hamilton, Aron Magner, Reed Mathis, James Casey, Jeff Franca, and according to their announcement via socials, “a friend or two,” will migrate up the coastline for their follow up on August 18 at New York City’s Pier 17.
In addition to sharing the concert dates and locations, Kreutzmann also added a message, offering: “I had such a great time playing in New Orleans during Jazz Fest, that I just knew I had to get [Billy & the Kids] back together this summer for more fun. I wanted to be by the water, but I wanted to play on land – so I thought, ‘Let’s just go from pier to pier, drop our anchor and throw down.’ I know we can take these two nights far out there while never leaving port.”
Tickets go on sale Friday, June 23 at 10 a.m. E.T. New York City pre-sale begins today. Learn more at billkreutzmann.com.
