On May 4, Oteil Burbrudge linked up with drummer Johnny Vidacovich and slide guitar specialist Sonny Landreth for an extended frame of music, performed in The Big Easy. The gig took place at Maple Leaf Bar in New Orleans just past 10 p.m. local time and stretched for over two hours. 

Burbidge was in the region for an appearance with his Dead & Company counterparts: Bobby Weir, Mickey Hart, Jay Lane, John Mayer and Jeff Chimenti, for their highly anticipated appearances at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on Saturday, May 6. Read more

Prior to his arrival on the festival’s main stage, the bassist turned up at the popular Maple Leaf venue for a frame of music, which picked up in the late hours of Thursday night. Burbridge remained seated and centered on stage while Landreth took on lyrical duty throughout the evening–paired with his defined licks. 

Meanwhile, percussionist, Vidacovich provided the backbeat on a number of beloved songs chosen specifically for the special night in Crescent City. The concert venue has shared a video of the complete performance via their official YouTube page. Watch below.
