On Saturday, May 6, SunFest commenced its second day of programming in West Palm Beach, Fla. Music began at 2 p.m. local time with a frame of music from Nostaljah, which came before Animal Liberation Orchestra’s set. First, the San Francisco rockers welcomed Jack Johnson up for a sit-in. Then, during Johnson’s headlining set, he returned the favor by bringing ALO up for some choice tunes.

The initial sit-in arrived during ALO’s designated stage time. At that point, they welcomed their friend and collaborator, Johnson, up to assist on the night’s renditions of the Fly Between Falls tune, “Wasting Time.” In continuation of their shared time, Johnson joined in on 2012’s Sounds Like This number, “Falling Dominoes.” For the final song of the sit-in, the seasoned musicians landed on “Girl I Wanna Lay You Down,” a song they initially recorded with Johnson.

Later that night, after 9:30 p.m. local time, ALO assisted Johnson during his headlining set. During the performance, the gaggle of players delivered “Calm Down” and “Flake” as a collective ensemble. Of note, keyboardist Zach Gill (ALO) is also a member of Johnson’s band. Currently, ALO is signed to Johnson’s Brushfire Records label.
