Bill MacKay and Ryley Walker will reunite on stage for the first time in five years as a duo for a trio of live performances this July. The talented musicians, who first came together in a joint project in 2015, will showcase their signature blend of psych-folk-blues-raga at Judson & Moor in Chicago on July 27 and 28 and Union Pool in Brooklyn, N.Y., on July 30.
MacKay and Walker’s previous collaboration, the 2017 album SpiderBeetleBee, showcases their acoustic guitars in an intricate dance of improvisation and composed melodies, pushing the boundaries of traditional genres with their whimsical and austere sound. Notably, during their performance on July 28, Jake Acosta will serve as support, while Wendy Eisenberg will do the same on July 30. The opener for July 27 is TBA.
Their live performances promise to be just as mesmerizing as their recorded output, with the pair continuing to experiment with their unique sound and styles, elevating the sounds of their acoustic guitars with an ever-widening panorama of genres.
Tickets for these highly anticipated performances will go on sale starting May 3. Learn more and find tickets to the three select performances below.
