On Friday, March 24, John Mayer welcomed Sheryl Crow for a duet of “Strong Enough” during his solo tour stop at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The rendition marked the first sit-in since beginning his acoustic solo travels, and the collaboration was welcomed by their adoring fans with applause and jubilation.

Before they united on the song, which Mayer considers one of his favorites of all time, the guitarist played a melange of hit tracks, including “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room,” “Daughters,” “January 1967,” “New Light” > “You’re Gonna Live Forever in Me,” and more. Crow then joined for an acoustic instrumental intro made up of “Can’t Find My Way Home” before they segued into Crow’s beloved 1993 hit.

“Music City, musical crowd, magical night,” wrote Mayer on Instagram following the performance. “The legendary @sherylcrow gave me the honor of a lifetime by taking the stage to play ‘Strong Enough,’ one of my favourite songs of all time. Won’t soon forget this one…”
