The New York Yankees and the Jerry Garcia Family have teamed up to honor the Grateful Dead frontman’s birthday. The events will occur during the impending Days Between–the nine-day stretch linking the legacy player’s birth (Aug. 1) and death date (Aug. 9). Games will occur on Aug. 1 and 2 as well as Aug. 3 through 6.
The first set of games is scheduled for Aug. 1 and 2 and features a match-up between the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays. Then, as a follow-up to the initial ballgame, the Yankees will return to their Bronx, N.Y. turf on Aug. 3 through 6 for a series of four consecutive games versus the Houston Astros.
Folk who purchase a Yankees Special Event Ticket will receive a New York Yankees Jerry Garcia bobblehead as a souvenir. Those who purchase this ticket offer can go to the Bobblehead redemption table located on the Field Level (100 Level) next to Gate 2 up to 60 minutes after the originally scheduled first pitch to pick up their keepsake on the day of the game.
A portion of every ticket sold will support the Rex Foundation, a nonprofit organization created by the Grateful Dead family that supports the security of a healthy environment, promotes the arts, and provides support in addition to assistance for those facing hardships.
