As the 40th anniversary of the 1984 concert film and album for Stop Making Sense approaches, the Talking Heads have announced that they will rerelease the movie in theaters later this year. The David Byrne-fronted ensemble also shared that on August 18, the full show will be issued on vinyl for the first time.

In a post shared across the band’s social media this morning, they unveiled their intent for the Jonathon Demme-directed film, which sees the band run through fan favorite numbers such as their first hit single, “Psycho Killer,” as well as Tina Weymouth and Chris Franz off-shoot project, Tom Tom Club’s “Genius of Love.”

With the newly restored movie set to hit theaters later this year, Talking Heads also divulged information pertaining to the release of favored musical set on vinyl. The collection of beloved songs will be shared as a limited edition two-album set, paired alongside a 28-page booklet with unpublished photos and new liner notes by the foursome.

The audio for the impending LPs was mixed by Jerry Harrison and E.T. Thorngren and includes two previously unreleased records of “Cities” and “Big Business / I Zimbra.” Scroll down to view the complete album tracking list.
