Israeli psytrance quartet G-Nome Project have shared a new track inspired by the iconic soundtrack selection from the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, titled “Pure Imagination G-Mix.” The bass-heavy project incorporated several psychedelic approaches to their musical tapestry, adding elements of techno to the mix, which will appear on their debut studio LP Mouse Kingdom – set to arrive in 2023.

G-Nome Project’s remix of “Pure Imagination” is often featured in their live performances and was last shared during a sold-out show at Silk City in Philadelphia on Nov. 20, 2022. The seminal song, instantly recognizable by most, is loved for its familiarity on top of the emotive and thick groove G-Nome Project has added to it.

The single was mixed by Eyal Salomon and marks the first of several set to release ahead of the project. Other G-Mixes from cinema and TV include the themes of Sesame Street and Game of Thrones.

“More often than not, when fans come over to me before a show and request a song they want us to perform, it’s Pure Imagination,” explained bassist Zecheriah Reich of the song in a press release.

“The track is like a journey from darkness to light. There are legit eerie moments in the music, but then they give way to moments of triumph and joy. We’re excited to finally share it,” added guitarist Yakir Hyman.
