Bluegrass maestro Béla Fleck announced he and his beloved band, the Flecktones, will reunite for the first time in four years. The ensemble’s reunion will see them perform four shows this June.

The group, comprised of Fleck, iconic bassist and author of The Music Lesson: A Spiritual Search for Growth Through Music Victor Wooten, multi-instrumentalist Howard Levy and percussionist Roy “Futureman” Wooten,” will first come together at Fort Wayne, Ind., on June 10, from there they’ll head to Milwaukee, Wis., for a performance the following day. They’ll then resurface for a performance in Oklahoma City on June 13 before closing their tour in Santa Fe, N.M., on June 14. In the announcement, the ensemble wrote, “A few more dates to come as well.” Their website has concerts set for June 12 and 15 listed as TBA.

Béla Fleck and the Flecktones initially were planning to reunite in 2020, but the plans were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, Fleck released the Grammy Award-winning LP My Bluegrass Heart featuring some of the genre’s finest musicians, including Sam Bush, Billy Strings, Chris Thile, Sierra Hull, Molly Tuttle and more; he also took the project on the road with Hull, Justin Moses, Mark Schatz, Michael Cleveland and Bryan Sutton.

Tickets for Béla Fleck and the Flecktones’ newly announced tour dates go on sale Friday. Learn more and find tickets here.
