The celebrated Los Angeles-based Grateful Dead cover band, Cubensis, shared plans for the impending New Year’s Eve holiday. The groups will perform for two nights, on Dec. 30 and 31, at Samba By the Sea in Redondo Beach, Calif., with Mark Karan (RatDog, The Other Ones, Phil & Friends, Planet Drum) and featuring The Great North Special.

The forthcoming holiday events will include Karan lending some musical assistance on guitar and vocals during the two-night event, billed as an evening of acoustic jams on Friday, Dec. 30, followed by an electric-infused affair on Saturday, Dec. 31.

Also included are Laguna Beach, Calif. locals, The Great North Special, who will warm up the crowd with a blend of psych-rock, blues-fueled country and funk-heavy renditions of originals, covers and hip-shaking improvised jams.

As a bonus, the two shows will include state-of-the-art lighting by Billy Sunday’s Magic Show, lasers and premium sound. Tickets for the New Year’s Eve event are on sale now and can be purchased here.
