On Nov. 11, renowned songstress and piano player Norah Jones will join Tank and the Bangas on the first night of their highly anticipated residency at Blue Note Jazz Club in New York. The “Come Away With Me” singer will participate in an early (8 p.m.) and a late show (10:30 p.m.) this coming Friday.
The impending residency was announced in mid-July and is slated to begin on Nov. 11, when the New Orleans ensemble takes the legendary Big Apple stage and works through the music from their 2019 LP, Green Balloon, with featured accompaniment by Jones.
Fusing funk, soul, and elements of hip-hop, the energetic unit led by Tarriona “Tank” Ball, and featuring Marell Burkett on keys, Joshua Johnson on drums, Norman Spence on bass and synth and Albert Allenback on alto sax and flute, will then follow up the next night by running through material off their 2022 release, Red Balloon.
For those interested in catching Tank and the Bangas alongside Norah Jones, tickets remain on sale and can be purchased here.
