Renowned composer and member of Phil Lesh & Friends, Steve Molitz, served as Lead Composer and Music Director on Evil Dead: The Game which was released last Friday, May 13.
The video game, which is inspired by the iconic horror, humor and action of the Evil Dead film franchise, features an eclectic curation of scores to go along with the surreal non-stop excitement inspired by the 1981 cult classic. In celebration of its release, Evil Dead: The Game shared its launch trailer featuring music sampled from the original film’s composer Joe LoDuca, along with Statik Selektah and Method Man – Molitz produced the track and provided backup vocals.
Additional artists featured on the soundtrack include Eric McFadden, Ryan Liatsis (Shwizz, Western Skies) and Silent Skies. Now that Evil Dead: The Game has launched Molitz is reportedly working on a number of other Saber Interactive titles including Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II. Watch the reveal trailer here.
Molitz is set to perform with Robby Krieger at The Meadows Racetrack, Washington, Pa. on June 4; Phil Lesh & Friends on June 12 at the Cuthbert Amphitheater in Eugene, Ore. and Marymoor Park, Redmond, Wash. respectively; and Particle at Harry Brown’s Farm, in Starks, Maine on Aug. 20.
