Last night, The String Cheese Incident performed at the Daze Between Festival at the Faubourg Brewery in New Orleans. The event welcomed esteemed bands and musicians to enjoy the days between Jazz Fest weekends with music throughout the afternoon and into the night including, Benny & the Late Bloomers, Eric Krasno & Friends, Nicholas Payton, Snarky Puppy, Erica Falls, and two sets of The String Cheese Incident.

The String Cheese Incident started their set at 6:30 and opened with their beloved track “Sometimes a River.” The ensemble were quick to welcome guests on stage and Shaun Martin and Nate Werth of Snarky Puppy joined them for “MLT.” Next, they moved into “Rocky Road Blues” and “Dragonfly.” They then jammed from “Birdland” > “Remington Ride” > “Birdland.” They then played the gelatinous “Jellyfish” before closing with “All We Got.”

The second set kicked off with serious excitement as surprise guest Billy Strings coyly walked onstage, with the band in tow, threw a guitar strap over his shoulder and broke into “Close Your Eyes.” After the song, he decided to stay for one more and joined The String Cheese Incident on a cover of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Ramblin’ Man.” After much applause Strings left the stage to The String Cheese Incident who played “Mouna Bowa” before flowing from “Hotel Window” into “Miss Brown’s Teahouse.” They closed the set with “It Is What It Is.”

For their encore, The String Cheese Incident returned to the stage to deliver 2014’s “Colliding.” Check a fan-shot video of Strings’ arrival on stage below:
